Gotterup tracks down Hideki at "the People's Open"

What a wild finish to the WM! Hideki showed up Sunday with some of his best iron play and all of his worst driver swings…and still had a putt to win. Hideki hit just three fairways yesterday, yet he still gained over 6.5 strokes on the field with his approach play. That’s just impressive. Meanwhile, Chris Gotterup hung around all day and then finished birdie-birdie-par-birdie-birdie-birdie to win. Also incredibly impressive, and Gotterup now has two wins from the last four events, and appears to have “it”. He might have a future in this game, huh?

As most will remember from the Sony, only eight teams chose Gotterup this year and that continues to pay dividends for them, as all eight are in the top 23 in total earnings. (Honestly, I was surprised to find out they weren’t all in the top 10 - shout out to the couple of teams hanging out in the top 10 without Chris G!).

BSIII paired Gotterup with Scottie, Si Woo and Xander which was enough to take the victory (& $150 weekly prize) by a slim ~$20k margin, and moves them up to 3rd overall.

Always 3 Putting remains in the lead as we head into the Siggies at a couple of classic courses - Pebble Beach and Riviera coming up the next two weeks. Both with $20MM purses, so some real opportunities for the leader board to change!
