Tommylad's slow-motion choke job turns Captain Keegan into Playing-Captain Keegan...
For those who didn’t watch the season’s final Signature Event, it was a very exciting ending yesterday, as Tommy Fleetwood took a 3 shot lead into the day and converted it into his 42nd top-10 without a win on the PGA Tour. Having never looked comfortable all day, he still had the lead at the 18th despite a hard charge from Keegan Bradley. But a poor approach shot from 148 yards at the last left him with a long putt from the front fringe while Keegan threw a dart in to about 6 feet. Tommy’s attempt came up well short, and crucially just outside Keegan’s ball. Tommy then pushed it right past the hole, and Keegan drained it on top of him to win. That win moves Keegan up to 7th on the OWGR and in the top 12 in Ryder Cup points, meaning it’s looking very likely we’ll have a playing captain this fall.
In our game, four teams selected Bradley but Go # Sand paired him enough others to comfortably get the win and take the $200 prize this week. The win moves them up 70 spots in the overall ranking, from 161st to 91st.
Purdue Pete maintains the overall lead by about $730k over Honsie Gilmore as we move on to the Rocket Classic.
